3 sticks butter
1 box plus 1 cup dark brown sugar
5 eggs
1 cup milk
3 cups plain flour
teaspoon salt
teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
teaspoon maple flavoring
cup chopped nuts, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter until fluffy. Add sugar and continue to cream. Add eggs one at a time beating after each addition. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder. Add dry ingredients and milk, alternately, to egg mixture. Add flavoring and nuts. Bake in well-greased and floured tube pan at 325 for 1 hours. May line pan with waxed paper.
