3 c Flour
1/3 c + 2 t Sugar
2 t Baking Powder
t Baking Soda
3/4 t Salt
t Cinnamon

3/4 c Butter or Marj.

1 c Buttermilk
1T. Cream
3/4 c Raisins or Currents
1t Lemon or Orange Zest

Directions:

Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in Butter/Marj.
Add remaining ingredients.

Pat out like you would for biscuits, but in a circle. Cut into wedges (like 'pizza')

Place on cookie sheet and bake at 400 for 15 minutes.

I like to make 2 smaller 'circles' of dough yielding 16 smaller scones.
I also like to beat an egg and brush a small amount on top of each scone before baking.
