Ingredients:  
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour plus one T.
3/4 c. butter or 1 1/2 sticks
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
1/4 t. salt
1 jar apricot preserves

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Gradually add the
flour and salt. Divide dough in half. Press half into well greased
9 x 9 pan. Spread preserves on dough, leaving a margin. Drop,
piece by piece remaining dough on top of preserves. Bake for
35 minutes at 350 degrees.
