2 c Sugar
2 c Flour
1 t Soda
1/2 t Salt
1 c Margarine
4 T Cocoa
1 c Water
1/2 c Buttermilk
2 Eggs
1 t Vanilla

Frosting:
1/2 c Margarine
4 T Cocoa
6 T Buttermilk
1 lb Powdered Sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Sift sugar, flour, soda & salt into large bowl. Melt margarine, cocoa & water over medium heat. Bring to a rapid boil, then pour over the dry ingredients. Add buttermilk, eggs, vanilla and mix well. No need to beat. bake in 9 x 13 inch pan that has been greased and floured at 350 for about 30 minutes.

Frosting:
In same saucepan, melt margarine, cocoa, and buttermilk - bring to a rapid boil. Remove from heat, add powdered sugar, vanilla and chopped nuts. Spread on HOT cake. Poke cake with a fork and let soak in.

This recipe was also submitted by Marybeth Pavlik, the main difference being that she bakes it in a jelly roll pan for 15-20 minutes, and she recommends sifting the powdered sugar so as to avoid lumps in the frosting. ~Charlene
