2 cups Boiling Water
2 cups 100% Bran
1 cup Shortening
3 cups Sugar, (white and/or brown)
4 Eggs
1 quart Buttermilk, (yogurt also works)
5 cups Flour
1 teaspoon Salt
5 teaspoons Baking Soda
4 cups Oatmeal, uncooked

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over bran and set aside. In a very large bowl cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, buttermilk, flour, salt and soda. Add cereals last. Use some of mix if desired, refrigerate remainder. Pour into well-greased muffin tins approximately 3/4 full. Bake in preheated 375 oven for 15 - 25 minutes (15-20) if room temperature; 20-25 if refrigerated).

Add raisins, nuts, dates, etc. if desired just before baking.
