1 1/2 c. warm water 1 c. canned evaporated milk
1 pkg active dry yeast 7 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar 1/4 c. veg. shortening
1 tsp salt Oil for deep frying
2 large eggs Confectioners' sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Put warm water in a large bowl. Sprinkle in dry yeast & stir until dissolved. Add sugar, salt, eggs, & evaporated milk. Gradually stir in 4 c. flour & beat w/ wooden spoon until smooth. Beat in shortening, then add remaining flour, 1/3 c at a time. Use hands if too stiff to stir w/ spoon. Cover bowl w/ plastic wrap & refrigerate overnight.
Roll out dough 1/4 at a time, 1/8" thick. Cut 3x2 w/ sharp knife. Fry in oil, preheated to 360║ , 3 or 4 at a time. Turn to brown on both sides. Remove. Drain on paper towel . Sprinkle heavily with confec. sugar. Keep warm in 200║oven.
