3 cups mashed figs
2 packages (3 oz) strawberry gelatin
3 cups sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Sterilize canning jars.
Wash, peel, and mash, figs.
Place figs, gelatin and sugar in large pot and bring to a boil. Lower heat and continue to boil 3 to 5 minutes, stirring often.
Pour hot preserves into hot jars, leaving 1/4 inch head space. Wipe jar rims and adjust lids. Process in boiling water bath for 5 minutes. Remove jars, place on towel and allow jars to sit until you hear (ping) the jars seal.
Move the jars to a cool, dark place to store.
