sugar for caramel sauce
4 eggs
1 can sweetened condensed milk
Add the same amount of regular milk
1 tsp. vanilla (rum flavoring may also be used)

Directions:
Directions:
In a container, make caramel sauce by melting sugar, stirring until it is liquefied. Pour this in the bottom of a buttered container for the oven, or in a double boiler. Bake for 2 hours at 350, or in a double boiler until it is the consistency desired. Invert on a platter that will hold sauce. The sauce will ooze nicely over the top and around the sides.

This is one of my favorite Venezuelan recipes from a friend of min in Caracas, Dilia Quejada. There are many versions of flan, but this is Dilia's and she gave it to me.
