1 c warm water
1 pkg dry yeast
2 tbsp sugar
21/4 c flour
1 tsp salt
1 egg
2 tbsp soft shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Measure warm water in large bowl. Sprinkle in yeast and stir to dissolve. Stir in sugar, half of the flour, and the spoon of salt. Beat with a spoon until smooth. Add the egg and shortening and the rest of the flour and beat again. Let rise in warm place until double in bulk, about 30 minutes. Stir down spoon into a large 12 muffin pan, which has been greased, filling each muffin cup about half full. Let rise to top of pan, 20 to 30 minutes. Bake in 400 oven about 15 minutes or until lightly brown. While still war, brush tops with melted butter.
