Ingredients:  
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. quick cooking oats
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional or 1 - 2 c. raisins)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar together. Add eggs and mix well. Add vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients. Add dry mixture to creamed in 3 parts. Add oats and raisins or nuts. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
