Ingredients:  
1 med. head cabbage, sliced in small pieces
1 tsp. salt
Cook in water until almost tender, drain.
White Sauce:
2 T. butter
2 T. flour
1 cup milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Cook until smooth and add 1 cup American cheese, diced up. Stir until cheese is melted.

Directions:

Butter baking dish. Add a layer of cabbage, cracker crumbs and a layer of the cheese sauce mixture. Make two layers, pouring white sauce over top. Put some cracker crumbs on top- dot with butter and bake 30 min. at 400 degrees ( If you use a large head of cabbage, double the white sauce recipe.
