1 1/2 lb. navy beans
2 1/2 qt. water
1 ham bone
1 c. chopped onions
3 carrots, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Wash beans and discard any stones. Cover with cold water and soak overnight; drain. Cook ham bone all day, adding water as required. Remove ham bone and add all other ingredients. Cook until beans are soft. Add ham, and salt and pepper to taste.
