6 medium sized tomatoes
2 tbsp salad oil
1/2 c onion, minced
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp oregano leaves, crumbles
2 c cooked rice
2 tbsp butter, melted
1/4 c grated parmesan cheese

Slice 4 tomatoes; chop remaining 2 tomatoes; set aside. In a large skillet heat oil. Add onion; saute until tender, about 2 minutes. Add beef and saute until browned, about 3 minutes. Stir in reserved chopped tomatoes, worcestershire sauce, salt and oregano. Grease a 10x6 inch casserole. Spoon half of the meat mixture into bottom of casserole; top with half of the rice and half of the reserved sliced tomatoes. Repeat, ending with tomatoes. Brush with butter. Bake in a preheated over 350 for 40 minutes or until hot. Sprinkle with cheese.
