1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
3 egg yolks
1 c pecan pieces
1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, drained well (blot with paper towels to assure of draining well)
1 box vanilla wafers

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and butter well. Add beaten egg yolks and beat again. Add nuts and pineapple, 2 tablespoons at a time, mixing well to prevent mixture separating. Put a layer of whole vanilla wafers in a 9x13" Pyrex dish. Spread a thin layer of the pineapple mixture over wafers. Add another layer of wafers and more pineapple until pineapple mixture is gone. Sprinkle with wafer dust and garnish with pecan halves. Let stand in refrigerator 48 hours before serving. Top with whipped cream and a cherry.
