1 Acorn squash
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
4 tbsp. maple syrup
salt & pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Carefully cut the squash in half. Remove seeds and membrane. Place in shallow baking dish, add about 1/4 cup water. Sprinkle squash with salt and pepper. Add 1 tbsp. butter and 2 tbsp. syrup to each half of squash. Cover with foil.

Bake 350 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until tender. Remove from oven every half hour and baste the outer edges of squash with the butter and syrup mixture. Keep covered when baking.

When done let set for about 15 minutes. Place the squash on a cutting board and cut each half into two pieces and serve.
