1 lb Italian sausage
6 stalks celery, sliced
3 zucchini, halved and sliced
1 onion, diced
2 (28-oz) cans diced tomatoes
1 (12 oz) can tomato juice
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 green peppers, diced

Directions:

Cook sausage in a frying pan, drain and slice.

In a large pot add all ingredients except the green peppers. Cook about 1/2 hour. Add green pepper for the last 10 minutes- you want the vegetables crisp.

This soup is the perfect end to a day spent out in the cold! This year we made a batch to warm up after our trip across the Hood Canal to cut down our Christmas tree. The recipe is originally from Todd's grandma, and continues to be a family favorite.
