50 pieces of chicken wings and drumettes, 1/2 onion (diced), 3/4 c. soy sauce, 3/4 c. vinegar, 2 c. water, 1 Tbsp. sugar, 1 tsp. minced garlic, 4 bay leaves, 10 peppercorns, cornstarch and water to thicken (if desired)

In a 5 quart pot, brown chicken pieces on high. Stir in onion until soft. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and cover pot. Simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until meat begins to fall off bones. Thicken, if dirsired, with 2 tablespoons cornstarch in 1/4 cup water during the last few minutes of cooking. Serve over hot rice.
