1 c shortening
1 c brown sugar
1 egg
1 c molasses
4 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp ginger
2 tsp soda dissolved in 1/4 c warm water

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar, egg, molasses and spices. Add flour and dissolved soda slowly. Chill dough. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
