"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Directions:
Comine all ingredients and pour into 9 inch prepared pie crust. Bake at 425 for 15 mins. Reduce heat to 350 and cook 45 mins. longer until knife in center comes out clean. Edges of crust may need to be covered towards the end of cooking to avoid over browning.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Mom has been making this pumpkin pie for as long as I can remember. She only uses fresh pumpkin which has to be peeled (this used to be Dad's job but now Mel, Russ & Nathan have been recruited for this task), cut up, and cooked but is well worth the effort.
