1/2c. Butter
2c. Fruit
1c. Sugar

Topping:
1c. Flour
3/4c. Sugar
2tsp. Baking Powder
3/4c. Milk
1tsp. Salt
Dash Nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Melt 1 stick butter in 8x8 pan. Put fruit and 1 cup sugar in a bowl and set aside. Mix together topping ingredients and spoon over melted butter. Then spoon the fruit over the topping. Bake at 375 for 1 hour. Place tin foil strip around edges, they tend to get too done before the middle is browned.

Assembly may seem backwards but topping bakes and rises up over the fruit. I usually double recipe.
