3/4 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
4 Tbsp. molasses
2 1/4 cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. chives
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Mix well; chill 1 hour. Shape into 1/2 inch balls. Roll into sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle each cookie with 2 drops water. Bake 375 for 12 minutes or until firm on top.
