3 or 4 lb soup bone
onion
carrots
turnips
1/4 c rice

Directions:
Directions:
Put soup bone in kettle and cover with cold water. Add salt and cook 2 or 3 hours until meat is tender. Skim off scum. Add vegetables such as a few onions, leaf parsley, carrots, turnips and 1/4 cup of rice.

This is a recipe of Grandma Schilling's. Grandma Pauk said she prefer potatoes or noodles to rice in this soup.
