3 c raw, fresh grapefruit
1 c sugar
1/3 c water
3 eggs whites
1/4 tsp cram of tartar
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Puree grapefruit. Boil water and sugar mixture to soft boil stage
Beat eggs with cream of tartar and salt to soft peaks. Combine sugar syrup with eggs. Fold in grapefruit puree. Freeze until mushy. Remove from freezer when mushy. Re mix and freeze.

This is Julia Child's recipe. We watched her make it on TV when we lived in Athens, OH, and went to the kitchen and made it and had our friends Karen and Harry Dorr over to help check it out. It was very good.
