Take 2 slices of bread. Butter them. Slice onion about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Put in the middle of the buttered bread, salt to taste.

1/2 hour, depending on hour long it takes to peel the onion.

Mother used to make this to get rid of our colds. The bread was home made by my Mother of course. It works.....I'm still alive. Just don't have a date afterwards.
