6 to 8 c. fresh broccoli crowns in small pieces
1 med. red onion thinly sliced & chopped (or 2 bunches spring onions, chopped)
1 to 1-1/2 c. raisins (golden or regular)
6 T. red wine vinegar(or more)
1/4 - 1/2 c. oil
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. lemon juice
1/4 c. mayonnaise
1/2 jar of Hormel real bacon bits or 10-12 slices bacon fried and crumbled
1 c. sunflower seeds or pecans

Heat sugar,vinegar,lemon juice,oil (if desired) & mayo (if desired) until dissolved. All of mayonnaise might not dissolve but it's okay.Combine with remaining ingredients and stir.Refrigerate at least three hours or overnight.Stir occasionally to combine flavors.

It's hard to mess up this recipe. I have left off oil. It's just as good! Vary the amounts of ingredients until it tastes like you want it.
