1 cup sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1/4 cup shortening or oil
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. soda dissolved in 1 tsp. hot water
2-1/2 cups flour
3 eggs, beaten

Directions:

Mix dry ingredients together.Add the eggs mixed with sugar, molasses, oil, and soda mixture.This is a thin batter.Bake in 9" greased pan 45 minutes at 350
