1 sliced onion
3 T margarine
3 T flour
1 qt stewed tomatoes
2 c water
2 chicken bouillon cubes
1 T sugar
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 tsp caraway seed
salt and pepper to taste
toasted rye bread cubes

Directions:
Directions:
Brown onion in margarine; stir in flour. add remaining ingredients except bread, simmer 20 minutes. Garnish with bread.
