2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup orange juice
1 grated orange rind
1 egg well beaten
1 cup raw cranberries, halved
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut in shortening. Combine orange juice, orange rind and egg and mix with dry ingredients, just until damp. Fold in cranberries and nuts. Spoon into greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Store overnight for easy slicing.
