2 Cups Brown Sugar
1 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Dark Molasses
1 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. Ginger
2 Eggs
1 Cup Hot Water
1 tsp. soda
1 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
3 Cups All Purpose Flour (approx.)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350
Disolve soda in hot water
Combine the sugar, shortening, molasses, eggs,spices and hot water mixture Gradually add flour until dough is stiff and can be rolled out. Divide dough into two parts. Roll out to about 1/2 inch and cut into cookies. Place on cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until done.
