3 c. flour
1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. Crisco
2 c. light brown sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1-1/2 tsp. cinnamon (ground)
1-1/2 tsp. cloves (ground)
1-1/2 tsp. nutmeg (ground)
2 eggs
1-1/2 c. walnuts (chopped)
1-1/2 c. apples (chopped)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and soda. Mix Crisco, sugar, spices, eggs until blended. Stir in 1/4 of flour mix. Stir in fruit and nuts. Blend in milk and rest of flour. Drop by teaspoons on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake 11-14 minutes at 400º.
Glaze: Mix 2 c. confectioner’s sugar, 1-1/2 T. butter, 1/2 tsp. vanilla, 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/4 c. milk together. Glaze while still warm.
