1 lb. pork sausage
8 slices whole wheat bread (or combined with white), dried and broken
1 cup celery, finely chopped
1 cup onion, finely chopped
3 tbsp. minced fresh sage (or 1 tbs. ground sage)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
2 cups Red Delicious or Granny Smith apples, cut in cubes. (un-peeled)
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
2 large eggs beaten
1 stick butter or margarine, melted.

Directions:
Directions:
In large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat breaking it up and crumbling until no pink remains. Remove sausage and drain on paper towels.

In a large mixing bowl, throughly mix together all ingredients except eggs and butter. Drizzle eggs and melted butter over bread mixture until it is very moist.

Place in a greased casserole dish. Bake 350 about 45 minutes.
