2/3 to 1 c. sugar--depends on sweetness of peaches
1 T. cornstarch or flour
1 c. water
3 c. fresh peaches with any juice
cinnamon
butter

Topping:
2 C. flour
2 T. sugar
1 T. baking powder
1 tsp salt
6 T. shortening
1 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Heat Oven to 400. Mix sugar and cornstarch . Gradually stir in water. Bring to boil and boil one minute, stirring constantly. Add fruit and juice. Pour into 7 1/2 by 11 baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon and dot with butter. Prepare topping.

Topping:
Measure flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Cut in shortening until mixture has small lumps. Stir in milk. Drop by spoonfuls onto hot fruit. Bake 25-30 minutes at 400.
