2 T cornstarch
2 c drained pie cherries
2 T butter
2/3 c cherry juice
7/8 c sugar
few drops red food coloring
Plain pastry

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cornstarch with enough cherry juice to make a thin mixture. Bring remainder of juice to boiling. Add cornstarch mixture and continue to cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is transparent. Add sugar, coloring, and butter. Add cherries, being careful not to crush them. Let stand while making pastry.
