1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, sugar and eggs thoroughly. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Mix thoroughly. Roll into balls about 3/4" in diameter. Roll in mixture of 2 tbsp. of sugar and 2 tsp. of cinnamon. Place about 1 1/2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 - 10 minutes at 400 degrees until lightly browned, yet still soft. These cookies will puff up at first then flatten with crisp tops.
