Chocolate Buttermilk Cake Recipe

2 c sugar
2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 c butter
4 tbsp cocoa
1 c water
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c buttermilk
1/2 tsp vanilla

1/2 c butter
4 tbsp cocoa
6 tbsp buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
1 box powdered sugar

Mix first 4 ingredients in a large bowl. Melt butter and cocoa with water. Bring to a boil and mix with dry ingredients. Add beaten eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Blend well. Then bake in a greased and floured 10X15 cookie sheet at 350 for 18 -20 minutes. Test for doneness at center.
Bring all four ingredients to a boil and pour over 1 box of powdered sugar. Beat until smooth.
The frosting can be spread directly over warm cake. Place in freezer immediately to retain freshness and to make it easier to cut into pieces.
