1 onion, chopped
1/2 C butter
16 oz frozen chopped broccoli
4 (14.5 oz) cans chicken broth
1 lb Velveeta, cubed
2 C milk
1 tbsp garlic powder
2/3 C cornstarch
1 C water

Directions:
Directions:
n a large pot over medium heat, cook onions in butter until softened. Stir in broccoli and cover with chicken broth. Simmer until broccoli is tender, 10 to 15 minutes.

Reduce heat and stir in cheese cubes until melted. Stir in milk and garlic powder until smooth.

In a small bowl, stir cornstarch into water until dissolved. Pour into soup and cook, stirring, until thickened.

I stumbled across this recipe on the net (souprecipe.com) and have made it 6 or 7 times over the last 3 years. Be forewarned: Once you try this recipe, canned soup will never satisfy you again.
