2 1/2 - 3 c. boiling water
1/1/2 c. cornmeal
1 1/2 tsp. salt
4 T. shortening
red or green chili powder, garlic powder, parmesan cheese, etc., to taste,if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over cornmeal and stir vigorously. Stir in salt, shortening and spices or cheese, if desired. Drop by tablespoons onto greased baking sheet. Mixture must be very thin to spread into 3 inch circles. Bake at 425 for 20 minutes or until crisp. Watch closely to prevent burning.
