1 TSP. Ginger
1 TSP. cloves
1 TSP all spice
1 TSP cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 heaping tsp soda

Sift together and add:
1/2 cup cooking oil
1 egg (unbeaten)
1/4 cup molasses

Mix with spoon, add 1/4 cup boiling water, and bake at 350 for 40 min. in either iron skillet or pyrex dish.

Don't over cook. Do test with straw after 30 min.
