2 Cans (14 1/2 oz) chicken broth
4 cups chopped fresh broccoli
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 bay leaf
1/4 cup margarine
4 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. Nature's Seasons Seasoning Blend
1/4 tsp. thyme
2 cups half and half ( 2% or skim )
1 Cup chopped cooked ham
1 cup shredded Velveeta cheese (or American)

Directions:
In large saucepan bring chicken broth to a boil. Add chopped broccoli, onion and bay leaf. Return to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer until broccoli is very tender. About 1 hour. Remove bay leaf. Prepare a roux by melting margarine in a small saucepan and blending in flour. Add seasoning. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Gradually stir in milk. Simmer and stir until mixture becomes smooth and thick. Blend mixture into soup. Add ham. Simmer until heated. Add cheese and stir until melted. To make this soup more of a chowder you can add a couple of cubed potatoes and carrots along with broccoli.
