Ingredients:  
2 c chopped dates
2 c boiling water
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp oleo
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
2 c sugar
2 1/2 c flour
dash salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix baking soda in boiling water. Add to dates. Add butter, let cool. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix sugar, flour, and salt. Add to mixture.
Pour into 2 greased and floured loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.
