1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. strong instant coffee
pinch of salt
2 1/2 c. cake flour
2 squares melted chocolate
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda (in buttermilk)
Frosting:

1 stick butter
3 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. cocoa
1/3 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar (add a little sugar at a time) add eggs (well beaten), add 1/2 c. flour, add vanilla, and chocolate.
Add a little flour and then a little buttermilk (with soda in it), alternate between buttermilk and flour. Add hot coffee.
Grease 9 X 13 pan. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.

Frosting:
Melt butter, add cocoa, alternate by adding sugar and milk. Beating on medium speed to spreading consistency. Add more milk if needed to thin. Add vanilla. (makes about 2 cups)
