1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/3 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 tbsp water
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cup sifted all purpose flour
dash of salt
2/3 cup chopped pitted dates
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and powdered sugar together.
Stir in water and vanilla. Add sifted all purpose flour and dash of salt. Mix well. Stir in chopped dates and the walnuts. Roll into one inch balls and place 2 inches apart on un-greased cookie sheet. Bake in slow oven (300) about 20 minutes or until cookies are set but not brown. While warm roll in powdered sugar.
