2 c flour
1/3 c corn meal
2 1/2 t baking powder
1 t salt
3 T sugar
1/2 c shortening
3/4 c milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour once; measure. Sift again with baking powder, salt, sugar and meal. Cut in shortening. Add milk and stir only until dough is formed. Turn out on a floured board and knead 6 to 8 times. Roll 1/2 inch thick and cut with a floured 3 inch cutter. Bake on an ungreased baking sheet in 425 oven about 15 minutes or until browned. Split and spread with butter. Serve with sweetened strawberries or peaches. Put fruit on bottom layer of biscuit, put top on fruit, add extra fruit to top layer and put whipped cream on top of that.
