2 c brown sugar
2 T butter
3 c boiling water
1/2 c white sugar
1 T butter
1/2 c sweet milk
1 tsp baking powder
Flour to make stiff

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the first 3 ingredients; bring to a boil. Simmer 10 minutes. Combine the rest of the ingredients as for a cake and drop into hot syrup. Simmer slowly 20 minutes or until dumplings are done.
