1/2 c shortening
1 1/2 c sugar (I use Splenda)
2 eggs
2 c flour
1 tsp soda
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 c buttermilk
1 c ripe bananas
1/2 c chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening & sugar. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients, alternately with buttermilk and bananas. Stir in pecans. Bake in paper-lined loaf pan at 350 for 65 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. If top gets too brown, tent with foil. Freezes well.
