4 cups flour
2 cups quick or old fashioned oats, uncooked
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups margarine or butter, softened
2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 can (16 oz) solid pack pumpkin
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Combine butter, sugars, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Mix well. Alternately add dry ingredients and pumpkin. Mixing well. Stir in chocolate morsels and nuts. Drop 1/4 cup dough onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 350 for 20-25 minutes. Cool on rack.
