1 c butter (margarine)
1 c firmly packed light brown sugar
1/2 c light molasses
3 1/2 c all-purpose flour
1 T ginger
2 t cinnamon
1 t baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, cream sugar. Gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Blend in molasses. Sift together flour, ginger, cinnamon, and soda. Gradually add to the creamed mixture. Chill dough for ease in handling. On lightly floured surface roll dough to about 1/3 inch thickness. With floured cookie cutters, cut into desired shapes. With wide spatula transfer to buttered baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 350 . Let stand for a few minutes before removing to wire rack to cool.
