4 egg whites
1/4 t salt or cream of tartar
8 T sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Add cream of tartar to egg whites and beat on high speed with mixer until frothy. Continue beating while adding the sugar a little at the time. Beat until stiff peaks foam. Spread meringue over lemon pie until it touches inner edges of the pie crust. Bake in 325 oven for 12 - 15 minutes. Cool. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.
