1/4 TSP. SALT
3 TBSP. CORNSTARCH
1 C. SUGAR
4-6 EGGS, SEPARATED
1 TSP. VANILLA
1/4-1/2 C. COCONUT

Directions:
IN DOUBLE BOILER, BRING TO BOIL THE MILK, ADD SUGAR, SALT AND BEATEN EGG YOLKS. THICKEN WITH CORNSTARCH IN 1/2 C. MILK. ADD VANILLA. POUR IN BAKED PIE SHELL AND COVER WITH MERINGUE MADE WITH THE EGG WHITES AND 1/4 C. SUGAR BEATEN TO STIFF PEAKS. BAKE IN MODERATE OVEN (350) UNTIL MERINGUE BROWNS. GARNISH WITH COCONUT ON TOP OF MERINGUE BEFORE BROWNING.
