1/2 cup oleo (butter)
2 cups sugar
2 cups plain flour
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup shortening
5 eggs, seperated
1 tsp baking soda
1 small can coconut
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream oleo and shortening. Add sugar and egg yolks, beat well. Add flour, soda, and buttermilk. Add pecans, coconut and stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes in 3 layers (3 - 9 inch pans). Let stand for 5 minutes before removing from pan.
